Trailer Loading a 2 year old for the First Time
26.20 minutes – In this video Angie teaches a 2 year old to load onto the trailer for the first time. Before you attempt to load your horse onto a trailer it is so important that you work on your basic foundation ground work skills. Before loading make sure your horse can back up out of your personal space, come forward off pressure, desensitise to a stick and flag or string, move their hindquarters and lunge around you; and ideally cross obstacles. If you can do these basics you will have most of the ingredients to make trailer loading a much more positive experience for both you and your horse.
In this video Angie also explains the importance of the release and working through your horse’s thresholds when trailer loading.
