John Wicks Clinic: Walk & Jog Circles into a Spin
12.6 minutes – In this video John helps a student correct their horse’s alignment and keep them soft off leg pressure in the spin. The rider starts this exercise on a small walk circle before going into the spin. On the small circle John gets the rider to drive their horse up until they are soft off their legs and outside rein. They then do the same exercise at a trot and try and get the horse’s feet to maintain the same rhythm. This exercise helps teach the horse to drive forward off the outside leg, stay straight in their alignment and stay soft through their back.
