Keeping the Hindquarters Engaged while doing Downward Transitions
7.14 minutes – In this video John explains how to begin to teach a horse to do downwards transition while keeping their back soft and their hindquarters more engaged. John explains how he keeps the horse soft over the back and in the contact while he transitions from the canter to the trot to the walk. Over time these cues will be used to go from a fast canter to a slow canter.
