Shoulder Exercise: Inside & Outside Flexion
9.34 minutes – In this video John talks through working on the inside and outside flexion, looking for any sort of resistance from the horse for him to focus on. John works through each gait, starting with the walk he flexes the horse to the inside, then straightens the horse before riding outside flexion. He keeps repeating this as the horse’s body gets softer and more relaxed with the exercise. As the horse gets softer off John’s legs they will begin to associate leg and hand pressure with being soft.
