7.39 minutes – In this video Angie works with a rider on a young, green horse and teaches them how to yield their hindquarters. She coaches the rider through breaking it right down and focus on teaching the horse to learn to have a positive response to leg aids and the important of applying the leg aids slowly to give the young horse a chance to response not over react and get worried about the leg aid. She wants the rider to build a positive language and communication with their horse and become a confident learner. She also encourages the rider to stop and give the horse time to think about what is being asked. If the horse is given a short amount of time to process the task they usually do it so much better after a short break. Angie also coaches the rider through some common problems in this exercise.
